Real estate rates increase overnight

Long-term mortgage interest rates were up Thursday, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield climbed to 3.53 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average rose to 5.75 percent, and the
15-year fixed rate gained to 5.27 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate, however, dropped to 5.3 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield was up at 4.39 percent.

Nightly real estate rates barely budge

Long-term mortgage interest rates were flat Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield sank to 3.51 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average dipped to 5.72 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate held at 5.22 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate slipped to 5.41 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield was down to 4.3 percent.

Nightly real estate rates rise

Long-term mortgage interest rates gained sharply Monday, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield grew to 3.56 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average climbed to 5.73 percent, and the
15-year fixed rate jumped to 5.22 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate rose to 5.45 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield gained to 4.37 percent.

Long-term mortgage interest rates ended Wednesday mixed, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield dropped to 3.34 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average held steady at 5.66 percent, while the
15-year fixed rate gained to 5.09 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate rose to 5.42 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield slipped to 4.21 percent.

Home loan apps fall in weekly survey

Despite a considerable drop in long-term mortgage rates, borrowers last week were not breaking down the doors of lenders trying to get a piece of the action, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported today.

According to MBA, home loan application volume fell 2.9 percent last week on a seasonally adjusted basis from the previous week, led by a 4.6 percent decline in the refinance index and a 1 percent drop in the index that tracks purchase loans.  more…

Real estate rates down again overnight

Long-term mortgage interest rates continued to fall Friday, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield sank to 3.44 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average dropped to 5.89 percent, and the
15-year fixed rate fell to 5.22 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate, however, climbed to 5.11 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield decreased to 4.36 percent.

Rising rates put dent in refi plans

An abrupt rise in interest rates helped cut mortgage application volume by 1.9 percent last week, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported today.

According to MBA, the seasonally adjusted decline was led by a 4.7 percent decrease in the index that tracks refinancings, despite a 1.4 percent gain in the purchase-loan index. As a result, the refinance share of applications fell to 50.6 percent from 52.4 percent two weeks ago, and the adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) share dipped to 15.5 percent from 17.3 percent.  more…

Long-term mortgage interest rates were mostly flat Monday, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield was down at 3.45 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average slipped to 6.07 percent, and the
15-year fixed rate was unchanged 5.49 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate decreased to 4.63 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield decreased to 4.46 percent.
